Choose your size with Qurat Clothing
Choose clothing by the measurements of the individual garment, rather than by age or a size label alone. Qurat Clothing offers export-surplus clothing from different labels, so two items marked with the same size can fit differently.
Start with an item that already fits
- Choose a similar garment that fits the wearer comfortably.
- Lay it flat on a level surface, smooth out folds and fasten it as it would be worn. Do not stretch the fabric.
- Measure with a tape and compare like-for-like measurements with the product listing. Use the same units.
- If a listing does not explain its units or measurement method, ask Qurat Clothing before ordering.
Measurements to compare
| Garment | Where to measure |
|---|---|
| Tops, hoodies and sweatshirts | Chest: straight across from underarm to underarm. Length: from the high shoulder beside the neckline to the hem. Sleeve: from the shoulder seam to the cuff, where the construction allows. |
| Trousers and joggers | Waist: straight across the waistband while flat and relaxed. Outside length: from the top of the waistband to the hem. Inside leg: from the crotch seam to the hem. |
| Dresses and one-piece garments | Compare the chest and overall length, and the waist or hip area where relevant. Follow any measurement method specified on the product page. |
A flat chest or waist width is not the same as a full circumference. Twice the flat width gives an approximate circumference only when measured in the same way. Do not compare a body circumference directly with a flat garment width.
Choosing children's sizes
An age such as 8–9 years is a guide, not a guarantee of fit. Children of the same age can have different heights and proportions. Compare actual garment measurements and allow for the comfortable fit you prefer. A labelled size and the approximate age shown in an image may also differ.
Elastic waistbands, layering and fit
Check whether a waistband measurement is relaxed or stretched. Ask for both measurements if needed; avoid estimating the stretch from a photograph. When choosing outerwear, compare an item worn over similar layers. Check the listing for a fitted, regular or loose cut rather than assuming every garment has the same fit.
Measurement and care questions
Small differences can occur when garments are measured. Use any tolerance stated on the individual product chart; do not assume one tolerance applies to every item. Follow the garment's care label. If the label or fabric information is missing, ask before washing or ordering.
